RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Our optical polishing and mirror coating techniques allow us to manufacture small numbers of mirrors, or even just a single piece of a custom made, novel, or prototype reflector. Consequentally we support, and work with, many customers who are Universities, Research Institutes, or development departments of laser manufacturers.
Our capabilities are almost limitless, prisms, knife edge mirrors, cassegrain mirrors, scanning mirrors, axicons, beam expander mirrors, as well as complete beam collimators. There are also non optical applications for our precision mirrors such as heat sinks, lens moulds, gauges, visible alignment aids, reference surfaces for micrometer anvils, our customers are very inventive!.
We also develop polishing techniques for unusual mirror materials such as metal alloys, ceramics, refractory metals like Molybdenum and Tungsten, semiconductor materials such as Silicon, Germanium, Silicon Carbide, as well as natural and man made crystals.
We have a small machine shop and can make any tooling or polishing jigs quickly and cost effectively in house.
