Our single point diamond machining facility enables us to manufacture unique, high precision components with extremely demanding specifications and complex shapes, including:

Our highly experienced and specialist SPDT team regularly produce parts with extreme accuracy in terms of surface roughness, dimensional tolerance and reflectivity. We supply specialist diamond machined optics and components for a wide range of applications including defence, astronomy, astrophysics, space & airborne optics, scanning systems, thermal imaging, scientific instruments, laser systems and moulds for plastic components.

Choice of material is extremely important when specifying a component for diamond machining. To achieve the required accuracy and form stability, the material needs to be properly stabilised and have sufficient mechanical strength.

The following materials can be diamond machined (this is not an exhaustive list – talk to us if you require parts made from other materials not listed here):

  • Zinc Sulphide
  • Zinc Selenide
  • Acrylic and other plastics


As well as our own electroless nickel and gold plating, we can supply diamond machined components with a range of protective and enhanced reflectivity coatings.

We typically achieve extremely demanding specifications, and will work with customers to their drawings and materials provided. Results achieved will depend on various factors including stiffness of structure, material, size and substrate geometry.
